On June 28, the main credit conference of the year, the Ukrainian Credit Conference (UCC), took place in Kyiv. The event was attended by representatives from the National Bank of Ukraine, the payment provider Platon, the VAFK Association, the Ukrainian Interbank Association of Payment Systems Members EMA, the management of Ukrgasbank, representatives of the largest financial companies in Ukraine, as well as event partners such as the VILLA UA brand, the International Club of Vintage Drinks (ICVD), Jack Daniel's Company, and Bon Boisson.

During the discussion, participants covered:

  • New products from Ukrainian fintech in the financial services market: credit cards, SME lending. What else will fintech offer? Who is the key client?

  • Prospects for Ukrainian neobanking: is this market already overheated, or is the ocean still blue?

  • What are the main problems and challenges faced by non-banks? Which technologies will they bet on in the next 2-5 years?

Vladyslav Bilan, CEO of MyCredit (Ukraine), proposed expanding the credit portfolio. However, this will require increased investments in marketing. He emphasized that a 1% daily rate, which the market is moving towards, is quite achievable for large financial companies. Specifically, he noted that this is better than the 0.8% daily rate initially proposed by the National Bank at the beginning of discussions, and higher than in Poland, where customers pay 10% for the entire loan period.
